Yes, it’s Sunday … where most people are resting, I’m working. I’m posting here, Tweeting, posting on my Facebook page, or recording audio tracks for you.
M-F aren’t work days for me. Every minute that I’m awake, I’m doing SOMETHING to get me closer to my goals. 99% need the rest because they’re not totally immersed in the passion that is the “grind.” If you’re trying to get to that next level, first … stop trying. Second, do more than you think is necessary. No Days Off.
Total Immersion
Why do I post here, Twitter, and my Facebook page every day? Why do I make these audio tracks for you every day? Why do I go to sleep visualizing my 1% successful future? Why do I wake up every morning focused on what has to be done that day in order to get closer to my goals?
The answer is simple …
When Will You?
I used to think of Fridays as the day where “I made it!” I got through the week, and now it’s time to kick my feet up and watch the game. Let me rest until Monday, where I’ll start the grind all over again.
Unfortunately, this is where 99% of people live their weeks. The 1% have learned otherwise …
Your Perception Dictates …
How you view each moment of your day is completely dictated by your perception of that moment. It’s been said over and over, yet the majority still don’t thoroughly understand the power of this concept. Do you see fear of failure or love for opportunity?
Decide that this will be your priority!
Fact vs. Fiction
There’s a very fine line and delicate balance between what’s true and what’s fiction during your climb towards excellence. These often crossover, creating confusion and doubt in your attempt to become 1%.
Let’s make this clear … fact is everything you think, say, believe, and decide. Fiction is what they think, say, believe, and decide – never confuse the two. What they think about your journey and belief system is fiction in your every day actions. The negativity they spew about your decisions to excel past mediocrity is their opinion, therefore making it fiction in your life.
Looking in the mirror, asking the important questions, and listening to the answers is how you define fact on your path. Expect them to try and convince you to think of their opinions as fact, but beware of the illusion. Their attempts to pull you down from the top rung of the ladder come from their own insecurities and fears. Know this as fact!
Fact vs. Fiction — what will you believe?
Do Now, Have Later
Do what you must now so you can have what you want later! Whether it’s about having to go to school, studying, or taking final exams, you must do it now, in order to get your degree later. If you want to master your craft, you must put in the hours of pain, struggle, and sacrifice now. That temporary frustration will lead you to what you want to achieve later.
There’s a short term game that must be played. It’s a test of your will, passion, and discipline. If achieving everything you want was easy, it wouldn’t feel as special when it finally manifests. The 1% success stories have mastered this equation.
When you choose to focus on what you WILL in the future … the now becomes automatic!
Move-Over Monday …
The majority of people view Monday as “the beginning;” the day after the weekend, where the week starts all over again – back to the grind! The 1% look at this day, not as start over, but rather …
“Move over, I’m comin! Get out of my way!”
Use Monday as a separation day, knowing the majority are struggling to fight through, wishing the weekend would arrive again. The trick isn’t waiting for Monday to make this mindset switch. Make the committed decision to always look for ways to gain an advantage over the pack. What are they doing, saying, and thinking that can be exploited? What should you do that will counter them, creating an instant separation? Choose to immerse yourself in this process, daily.
Take it!
The Weekend's For Separating …
All the research and study I’ve done on success, and how the elite’s mindset differs from the rest indicates their passion won’t allow for rest. They understand that hours of intense focus and a willingness to go beyond the normal definition of “realistic” is how they separate from mediocrity.
This ultimately means that weekends aren’t a time for sighs and vacations, but instead, an opportunity to build on the momentum created during the week. The 99% believe the complete opposite. Be the 1%.
Take it!
Words Aren't Enough
There’s nothing anyone can say that will make you decide mediocrity should no longer be a part of your life. You must choose greatness over average, and you must understand what it FEELS like.
Emotionally connect to your long term goals. Don’t just see it happening, feel it from the inside-out. When you visualize your future achievements, emotionally connect to the excitement of the opportunity!
