Changing Lives

Live for them. Give for them. Teach for them.

Too many of us focus so much on our personal goals, it becomes easy to forget the people around us. Everything you do affects others, either directly or indirectly … positively or negatively.

When you’re chasing your dreams, working harder than you’ve ever worked, remember there’s someone watching – someone who’s going to be influenced by you. When you feel “too tired” to continue, know that by pushing through, you’re showing him how to keep fighting when he doesn’t think he can. When you lose those 20 lbs., you’re proving to the person next to you that it’s possible to do something that once felt impossible.

Have personal goals and motivations, but always know she’s watching – someone you know, but aren’t even very close to. She’s taking mental notes, creating a belief system based off of your actions. What you do and don’t do affects lives! When you don’t feel like getting out of bed, remember that by sleeping that extra hour, you’re telling her that it’s o.k. to give in to struggle; it’s fine to only work as hard as you feel comfortable working. Instead of hitting the snooze button, jump out of bed for her – to improve her life.

You’re living to grow and change … not only yourself, but those around you. You’re touching more people than you’ll ever know, so do it with character, discipline, passion, and a willingness to strive further than most believe is possible. Show the world that anything is attainable the second you say it is.

Give, not to receive … but rather to change lives!

Change Is Forever

Surround yourself with like minds and people who want to grow WITH you! Keep changing, keep evolving … never stop. Make mistakes – please make mistakes. Listen, only, to your heart and instinct for this type of growth.
Make every day better than the last, knowing that the cycle of change continues forever.

You Gotta Do Better Than This …

Teaching the 1% Mindset means there will naturally be people who want to challenge the concepts . I love being called-out and discussing why I believe so passionately in the 1% Lifestyle – it creates thinking and maybe even understanding. This throw-down, I had to share …

The Beauty Of Struggle

When you look at a highly successful person, you think you’re judging him by his success, when in actuality, all you’re really seeing is his endurance of pain.
If you view your attainment of goals this way, you’ll be amazed at how powerful and confident it feels. It becomes a total win / win situation, knowing that when you succeed or fail along the way … you’re really only succeeding.
There’s no such thing as a straight line, and there’s definitely no such thing as a row of unlocked doors. This is the beauty of struggle – figuring out ways to make the path straighter and doors open!

A Decision He Made

This isn’t going to be a play-by-play post about Lebron James winning a championship, but rather, why he finally won!

I wasn’t previously a fan of LeBron, partly because I’m a huge Kobe supporter, but mostly because of how he performed during his defining moments. In the past, he’s been afraid to shine – fearful of risking it all. He talked about “wanting” to win a championship, but unlike Jordan or Kobe, could never put his ego on the line, and dominate with the game in the balance.

This year’s playoff run was different. He had that “look” that said it was going to be his this time – no one was going to take the championship away from him. He simply made a committed decision! He chose to be fearless during those moments that would define his legacy. This year’s championship trophy is now his because of the pain of losing it last year. THIS is how he was able to finally choose 1% Greatness over mediocrity. James used the pain of 2011’s loss to Dallas to fuel his fire.

As every 1% Success Story illustrates … pain is needed, inevitable, and mandatory! Fail for 364 days in a row, if needed, knowing on day 365, you’ll explode to another level! Use every struggle and tear of frustration to launch you to places you didn’t know existed – because they do exist, and are waiting for you!

Stop Talking About It

The key word here is DECIDE! Don’t hope or wish that you want it, and will do anything for it … make a committed decision that you will have it!
Fear is the biggest enemy of success, and will do whatever it takes to keep you from moving forward. You must consciously choose courage every minute of the day. Fear is a choice, quickly turned into habit – break the chain, risk it all, knowing this is the only way to crush this illusion.
99% talk about it. 1% do it. Who are you?
