Better Than Your Best

“Just do your best” sounds great, but is a cop-out!

BetterThanBest

No one knows what your best is … including you! You have an unlimited ceiling. Your best was in the past, in the form of  personal records, so when you say, “I’m going to do my best,” you’re ultimately telling yourself to repeat what you’ve already accomplished!

Your future best has yet to be seen, and impossible to predict. Instead of doing your best in every workout, training, practice, or game … I want you to strive for BETTER THAN YOUR BEST! Raise your bar past your old best. If you don’t squash your past best today, try again … and again … and again, until you can say, “I’ve done better than my best!” Then, repeat!

The difference between record breakers and people you’ve never heard of, is this exact mindset – they’re unafraid of going beyond what the majority think is possible, mentally and physically. The 1% don’t focus on “what if I don’t achieve it today,” they concentrate on the effort needed to achieve it today.

Never fear stepping beyond the realm of possibility, striving for more than the eye can see. Your mind and self belief will lead you to places once thought unimaginable.

Coach Godwin And I Talk 1% Mindset

I posted this chat a couple months ago, but wanted to revisit it. Coach Godwin is the all-time leading scorer from the University of North Florida’s basketball team, and is now a leading skills coach. His Until philosophy aligned perfectly with my 1% Mindset.

Would You Die For It?

DieForIt

I’d literally die for my family, if that meant they’d live to see another day! THAT’S drive, hunger … my reason for getting out of bed.

What belief, dream, or promise would you give your last breathe for? Make what you’re doing bigger than yourself – something that leaves a mark in your wake.

Success for self is empty success, but sacrificing for the people behind you or those who sacrificed before you … that’s genuine success.

When you wake up each morning, make it not about what you do, but rather, who you ARE!

Write It Down!

She’s laser focused on making her WHY  a reality!

This high school junior is taking the time to write down her long term vision! She’s not just talking about it or hoping about it … she’s DOING about it. She’s committed to making the smallest, most insignificant detail come to life. She’s talked about what it looks like, and now she’s determined to live, breathe, and sleep it into existence.

The subconscious never shuts off, so what we put in, it spits out … good or bad. She’s loading hers up with guarantees the majority would think to be “unrealistic.” It’s only unrealistic until it’s accomplished, where it’s then called ROUTINE!

Take time to put on paper or on your computer, what you WILL have in the future – what it looks like and who you’ll need to meet in order for it to materialize.

Stop hoping, start doing!
