The 1% Mindset, Coming To You Live

MicrophoneAudience

Let’s get the 1% Message in front of your team! Separating from average is a mentality, not a hope or wish – it’s a guarantee that nothing or no one will stop you from achieving record-breaking success.

The 1% Mindset is a DECISION, promising to never again, get out worked … never again, allow others to determine what’s possible for you … never again, let fear and doubt dictate choices … never again, waste a second of opportunity … never again, make “realistic” a part of your vocabulary … never again, settle for mediocrity!

My message to your team isn’t cliche, it’s driven by mistakes I was forced to learn from as an adult, wishing I had that opportunity while I was competing. “Just do your best” won’t be mentioned … “Be BETTER than your best” will, however!

Your level of success is determined by how closely you align your actions with your desires – it’s an intentional act, never a coincidence. Together, we’ll create a culture in your program, where excellence isn’t hoped for, it’s expected … it’s not talked about, it’s LIVED!

The 1% Mindset is yours for the taking! Contact me here: dgingo@cox.net.

Want Vs. Work

I LOVE this article!! I found it on Twitter, through coach Heather Stewart (@4evrhoopin). It speaks the truth, with no worry of who’s feelings may get “hurt.” Today’s generation has the most, wants the most, feels entitled to achieving the most … but puts in the least amount of effort than any generation in history. Because of instant access to everything today, the majority of young people believe that success should also be attained instantaneously. THIS is the huge disconnect, mentally. You can Google or YouTube how to create almost anything, but you can’t fast forward the amount of time it’ll take, or the effort and the perseverance needed.

Instant Mindset Change …

I love sharing texts, because it gives an insight to others’ mindset, both good and bad, allowing you to learn something from how they’re thinking. This one came from a Division 1 college beach volleyball player I’ve recently began working with. In the past, she fell victim to “big moments,” only because she was wasn’t clear on the opportunity that moment played in defining her future – she wasn’t excited for that specific opportunity. Her physical talent was off the charts, but when the game was on the line, all she concentrated on was, “what if I screw it up?”

The missing link I find with the majority of athletes is their lack of future vision – they train today, hoping the future will somehow manifest into greatness. Instead, I make it a priority to work backwards from WHAT THEY WILL BECOME, to today’s action, giving them purpose and emotionally connecting them to a bigger reason.

Before we talked, she had amazing physical talent, but played in fear. She often became emotionally overwhelmed during big games, trying to prove she belonged. Her confidence wained, making it impossible for her to perform at her best. She texted me this the day after our first hour session together – she CHOSE future over fear!

Fail Better

The majority wake up every morning trying to avoid failure at all cost, believing if they don’t fail, they instantly become successful. THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE! The most highly successful people in history have learned it’s because of their failure, they reached epic levels. I challenge you to not only embrace failure, but invite it!

(Below is from “Fail Up,” written by Tavis Smiley).

He's Separating From Average

Luc sent me this at 5:50 am! He’s committed to never again be out worked. 99% of 16 year olds, especially in the summer, are sleeping in, but he knows: They sleep, he wins!

Your Bad Isn't THAT Bad

The next time you think about quitting because “it’s too hard,” remember this picture!

Struggle defines character – do you have what it takes to battle beyond pain, or will you stop short of your dreams? No more excuses. Stop whining about why it’s too difficult. Create a detailed future visual and commit every ounce of your hunger to not stopping until it manifests!

Shed tears if you have to, scream in frustration if you have to, but NEVER STOP!

Meet Story Cummings – center for Team USA!

This kid is a beast, and is totally immersed in the 1% Lifestyle. No one will out work him – there’s no doubt we’ll be reading about him in the future, playing in a huge collegiate program.

Tweet him @StroyCummings. Here’s an example of his mentality: “When everything on your body hurts, but all you can think about is grinding harder, you’re in the right place.”

BOOM!

The 1% Family Leading The Way …

JackPerryfrombehind

Huge congratulations to 1% Family member and Northwestern’s #1 golfer, Jack Perry, for being named All American!!

His physical talent has never been questioned, but he’s now committed to the 1% Lifestyle and the sacrifices needed to take it past “really good” status – he’s now reached “great,” but isn’t satisfied. In a recent text, he said, “I was named All American, which is cool, but I WILL do better!” THAT’S the 1% Mindset – never settling!

His long term guarantees include winning multiple Majors on the PGA Tour. He’s not just hoping to make it on Tour, he wants to break records. Most would say that’s too high of an expectation … we say it’s already done … all that’s left is to show the world what it looks like!

Pay Full Price …

Coupons

Too many people are looking for a break, a discount, or shortcut.

There aren’t any coupons on your way to the top – you must pay full price. Sacrifice the max, punch fear in the face as hard as you can, and stare your future in the eyes. What WILL you achieve?

NO EXCUSES!

She's Going Blind While Gaining Vision

VisionFuture

This was sent to me by an up-and-coming star I’m blessed to work with. She’s young, hungry, and learning what it means to sacrifice. She’s having a difficult time seeing herself in the future, focusing on why she’s working so hard today. I’m constantly challenging her to lose her sight, and gain vision!

“One year ago I almost quit, and on top of that, my mom had almost pulled the plug until I decided that I’m not a quitter – that I’m not going to let someone in my life control who I am or what I want to be. Now, I’m playing national tournaments and I’m the best! I play with passion and emotion towards every shot I hit – not just every other shot or point, but every single shot!

Having my mental game improve and learning how to handle this, gave me a huge advantage in how I present myself and how I use it to break my opponents, crushing them every time we compete. I don’t just go out their to win, I go out there to show that I’m going to be the 1% that can complete their guarantees! Even though I don’t win every match, I go out there and put forth everything I’ve got until my arms and legs fall off – and that won’t even stop me.

This is what I look like – nothing or no one will break me to be the best at anything I do!”
