Letter To Jeff …

THIS is what it’s all about – shaping a young person’s life by what you do and how you make him feel. It’s obvious by this young man’s emotional note, Jeff has had a huge impact on his future.

When you look in the mirror and ask how to separate from mediocrity, remember this message. Offer your hand to someone who needs it – it may just be the one hand that changes it all for that person.

Do What You Have To Do …

THIS is what separates the 1% from the 99%!

A student and I were trying to synch our schedules for our next Skype, but were having difficulties doing so. Finally, we decided on early morning. He lives on the East coast, which is three hours ahead of me. His availability was 7:00 am, which meant a 4:00 am Skype for me! Normally, I’m up at 4:00, but this would be too late for our session … so there was only one choice: 3:30 am wake up!

If you want to reach a level 10, you have no choice but to sacrifice at a level 10. The 99% will only sacrifice what feels comfortable, but rarely gives more. Look at yourself in the mirror, and get honest – are you giving enough? Are you living in your comfort zone? Is your Why strong enough? Does it push you to do what the 99% can’t? Make a DECISION today!

In order to have what the majority don’t … you gotta do what the majority won’t.

Here's My 1% Interview …

I had a blast on the Golf Club Radio show, with Danielle Tucker!

If you’ve ever doubted yourself … listen! If you’ve ever wondered why, even though you’ve tried so hard to eliminate fears, but they won’t disappear … listen!

We also talked Tiger Woods, and I gave you insight on a PGA Touring Pro I sat down with last month.

StoryCummingsBEAST

Meet Story Cummings – center for Team USA!

This kid is a beast, and is totally immersed in the 1% Lifestyle. No one will out work him – there’s no doubt we’ll be reading about him in the future, playing in a huge collegiate program.

Tweet him @StroyCummings. Here’s an example of his mentality: “When everything on your body hurts, but all you can think about is grinding harder, you’re in the right place.”

Life Changing Opportunity …

photo-16

When opportunity comes knocking, open the door!

A few opportunities in your life have the power to change it all – I had one of those this weekend. I was blessed to spend the day with Eric Thomas, globally known motivational speaker and voice of  “If You Want To Succeed As Bad As You Wanna Breathe.”

More than the business wisdom he shared with me, I was impressed with his humility and true selflessness. He allowed me into his 20+ years of ridiculous work ethic and knowledge about how to take my “game” to another level. Of course, I’m grateful for the doors he offered to open for me, but even more than that, I was floored by the MAN he was – God loving, humble, and generous. Eric’s a true model of success – from the inside-out.

This day changed it all for me, and look forward to growing our relationship. When your day comes, will you be ready? Are you setting yourself up to bust through the door of opportunity? If you’re always ready, you won’t have to get ready.

We Have A Winner …

1Percent_Shirt

Congratulations to Max Gray for his inspiring Success Story ...
He's the winner of a 1% T-shirt.

"Sophomore year, my summer was going great. I felt unstoppable!
During one of my team scrimmages, I dove for a pas, caught it,
and landed weird. I got up and knew I was hurt, but kept going.
I was new to varsity and wanted to keep playing, but just couldn't.
I took a week off - I couldn't walk, sleep, or do anything without
pain.

The doctor said I was fine - just a sprained back. I began playing,
but it kept hurting. I went back to the same doctor, but he kept
saying it was just sprained. I didn't believe it. Was I really THAT
weak? A sprained back, and I'm in THIS much pain? I hated everything.

I finally went to a different doctor, who looked at the same MRI and
said it was FRACTURED! I had been playing for 2 months with a fractured
back. I remember being in so much pain, but nothing compared to when he
told me I'd never play football again. I was depressed, I cried - it
was extremely hard. I was stuck in a back brace for 6 months. I had
no motivation until one day I realized I couldn't give up! I watched
videos from Giavanni Ruffin, which inspired me a lot.

I was finally able to do little things like push ups and sit ups. Every
day, I was doing everything I possibly could. It hurt, but I knew
the pain wouldn't last forever - I kept pushing myself. I would go early
before school every day and just run, work out, and think. It was tough
because there was still doubt in me that I couldn't play again. I eventually
started track season, and hurt it again on the hurdles. I found a way
to fight back and made it to bi-districts. Now, I'm here ... taking no
days off, making sure that never happens again!

I truly feel blessed to be able to play football and be a State competitor in
track. I'm a fighter! I'm striving to be a kick returner and wide receiver
at the college level. I'd be humbled to play ANYWHERE!"

This future Success Story comes from UK golf coach, Alan Fletcher. It’s detailed, filled with 100% belief, as if he KNOWS there’s no other option but to make this a reality!

“My future success will be becoming the best golf and sports coach to athletes in the world, helping them believe and improve, whether it be physically or technically. I will have 5 of the top ten players, move to live the dream in the USA, consult and work with college teams and athletes and build an international sports brand … working 25/8 to be a great coach, husband and father!”

Two Personal Records In A Row!

photo-9

Carly (on the right) did it again! Back-to-back weeks breaking her personal record in the 100 meter.

She didn’t hit an “easy button” or learn a magical technique … all she did was tap into a belief system that was lying dormant, waiting to be called on. She DECIDED to raise her bar and create a vision that was free of fear.

Two hours of talking huge guarantees … two personal records shattered!

When will YOU choose the 1% Mindset?

She Never Stopped Believing

57rspbo0f1sc2wqg

I’ve been working with Erica since she was in 10th grade, now getting ready to graduate from UC Santa Barbara. She found a way to pay for college on her own, with little (if any) support from her family. She walked on to the tennis team, hoping to get a chance to prove herself to the coach, but struggled … and often.

She worked harder than anyone on the team, yet still no payout. She wasn’t playing, and it looked as if finding a spot in the starting lineup was going to be futile. During her sophomore season, she talked about quitting – she was putting in hours of grind and sweat, but wasn’t achieving the results she thought she deserved.

Erica, however, is a survivor and wouldn’t give in to the “quit.” She kept battling, never being out worked, making a promise to herself that she’d continue, no matter how much pain she had to endure. Her junior year finally gave way to more playing time, earning herself a spot in the starting lineup. SHE WOULDN’T RELINQUISH THAT SPOT!

In the beginning of her senior season, she was offered a scholarship and named Team Captain!

Erica never stopped fighting, making a committed decision to not give in to the struggle – she’s the true definition of the 1% Mindset. I’m incredibly proud of her and will continue to use her story as an example of what’s possible when you never, EVER stop working!
